Y8 Human Library, Greyfriars School

We are in search of volunteers for our Year 8 Human Library event from 11:15am-12:45pm on Tuesday, 14 May.

The purpose of the event is to help the students increase their understanding of the breadth of careers available to them and develop confidence to speak with new people. The event is run as a ‘speed networking’ event where each employer/volunteer will be seated at a table and groups of students will visit each table to find out as much as they can about an area of work. Each group will have about 4-5 minutes at each table and then move on to the next table. We are asking employers/volunteers to bring an object that is relevant to their line of work (it can be absolutely anything!) so students can guess what career the employer/volunteer has and then ask questions about the career, how they got into it, skills needed and so on.
