The Lodge at Bardwell school is an SEN post-16 provision for students aged 16 to 19-year-olds. We focus on the application of acquiring skills and equipping students with the skills they will need in their adult life. We believe that it is important to support students from the earliest stage in developing their skills, so they can leave as young adults with as much independence as possible. Community involvement is central to the curriculum and many of our lessons are based offsite to support students in generalising their developing skills, within the context of the local community facilities.
Next academic year we would like to further develop our already successful work experience program within the Bicester area and are currently seeking new employers to come on board. Currently our students help to run the Salvation Army Café, volunteer for Bicester Fridge and work within the admin offices at Sobell House in Oxford, just to name a few.
We would love to showcase ourselves to all Bicester businesses and invite anyone who is interested in supporting our student to join us at the Salvation Army Café, Hart Place, Bicester, OX26 4FR. The Café is open weekly on Tuesday’s between 11am-2pm until 11th July. We look forward to welcoming you to sample our delicious homemade soups, toasties, omelettes, quiches and to indulge a selection of baked goods such as our famous lemon drizzle cake.
